what happens when amy doesn't get enough sleep

Just a note: These are all the result of way too much practicing and not enough sleep, and are possibly sick and politically incorrect. You've been warned.

Round Bird

Round Bird is not like other birds. He has a wings that are dwarfed by a huge round body. He is too big to fly but he wants to play with the other birds more than everything. Everyday and in many ways he tries to fly. Mostly Round Bird has depended on the Force to make him fly. So he tries again. And again. And again. But nothing works.

Then he thought it might be better to use the Very Tall Tree. Round bird is determined to fly. Even though it is very hard for such a young bird of his size to do, he climbs to the highest branch of the Very Tall Tree. He takes a big breath and JUMPS!!

He flaps his wings very fast and hard! Oh no! The ground is coming up fast! Will Round Bird Fly?

No, Round Bird would not fly. "SPLATT!!" goes Round Bird. During his long hospital stay for multiple internal injuries, Round Bird thinks about flying. Round Bird realizes that there are just some things some birds can't do, even if he wishes and wishes and tries very hard. Round Bird realizes that the challenge, then, is not to do things that he can't after only a few tries and that would require much more practice to achieve, but to find things that can be done with much less effort.

Go see the real Round Bird. I wouldn't mention this parody, though. Those copywright lawyers can be so picky sometimes....

Sniffy and Fluffy

Once upon a time there lived a young frog who often sat upon a very soft lilly pad. The lilly pad was in a big pond, right next to a big building with the picture of lines that looked like "College" on it. His name was Sniffy, probably because he liked flowers, and the lovely powders that were sometimes left near them.

One day, Sniffy was scrubbing his toes in the pond. Uh-oh! He felt something moving in the water! That darn Government was after him again! Sniffy readied his big red Anti-Governmnet gun, just in case.

Phew! It was his friend, Fluffy, a small red fish from just up the pond. She giggled. Fluffy had good news. She heard there were giant flowers on the other side of the pond! Sniffy could hardly wait! He packed an overly nutritious lunch, containing 1000 per-cent of the recommended daily dose of everything a young frog should have, and they set off to smell the flowers.

They swam and swam. A big storm even came up! "That darn Government is controlling the weather again!" Sniffy thought. And then, right after that, a very large bird stole their overly nutritious lunch, in the name of competition.

Sniffy and Fluffy were beginning to think they would never see any giant flowers... ...when they realized they were at the other side of the pond! The flowers were huge! Sniffy was so happy! Fluffy was feeling a little left out. She could not smell the flowers from the water. Sniffy then bent a flower that was probably not large enough to hold his body out over the water. "I will always take a risk for my friend!" thought Fluffy. That day Fluffy felt very lucky to have such a risk-taking friend like Sniffy.

The Big Red Sun set over the pond on the the two friends.

Go see the real Sniffy and Fluffy.
